Litigation Legal Secretary

SSL Law Firm LLP, a reputable real estate law firm with offices in San Francisco and San Rafael is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary with a positive attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, revise, and format a wide range of legal documents.
• Creating shell documents for pleadings and other filings.
• Manage complex calendaring, scheduling, and docketing.
• Handle state and federal conventional and electronic court filings.
• Ensure code-compliant service of process.
• Coordinate attorney travel arrangements, expense reports, and billing.
• Research and interpret local court rules.
• Schedule court calls, appearances, hearings, and depositions.
• Assist in preparation for trial including managing exhibits and all evidentiary matters, witness lists, files and subpoenas, coordinates and attends witness prep meetings.

Required Qualifications For Success:

• 5+ years of litigation legal secretarial experience.
• Extensive experience with California state and federal litigation.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal rules of civil procedure and local court rules.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe, and experience with ProLaw and NetDocs preferred.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with an electronic document management system, time-entry program and calendaring program.
• Must have expertise in e-filing procedures
• Strong understanding of filing deadlines and court requirements.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently as well as with the team.
• Able to juggle multiple assignments and/or deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor and timely seek assistance when needed.
• Reliable with punctuality and attendance.
