Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Fiber Optic Technician based in Wilson, NC. The Fiber Optic Technician will be responsible for installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining fiber optic cables and related systems. This role involves troubleshooting issues, ensuring optimal functionality of fiber network systems, and adhering to safety and quality standards. Additional duties may include splicing and terminating fiber optics, documenting completed work, and collaborating with teams to deliver exceptional service to residents and businesses. Qualifications Proficiency in installing, splicing, and maintaining fiber optics and cabling systems Strong skills in troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving technical issues related to fiber optic systems Knowledge of cables and related components used in fiber optic networks Familiarity with optics and fiber transmission characteristics Ability to follow technical designs and wiring diagrams Commitment to maintaining safety protocols and ensuring high-quality workmanship Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Experience with fiber networks or a background in telecommunications is highly desirable High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in fiber optics or related fields are a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr City of Wilson
