We are working with a a growing defense firm, looking for an Educational Law Attorney to join their team. Specifically, they are looking for someone who has 2+ years of Education Law experience. Requirements: 2+ years of education law experience 1+ years of litigation experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions to meet client needs Impeccable written, verbal and advocacy skills with a high level of attention to detail JD from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials Licensed and in good standing in the state of Illinois Responsibilities: Representing families or districts in disputes over Individualized Education Programs and accommodations. Handling suspension, expulsion, and harassment cases. Advising districts on policy development, liability, and compliance with federal and state laws. Managing union negotiations, teacher grievances, and employee contracts. Representing parties in court regarding civil rights issues like student speech or search and seizure The annual salary for this position is between 130k-160k. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
